Bridge for Beginners

Join in this relaxing afternoon session as Mary Ann Sisolak leads the group in the basics of Bridge. Become familiar with hand evaluation, bidding, and responding. Geared for the inexperienced player.

 

Digital Photography
Edgewood Hall, Rm. 215

New to digital photography? There is a lot more to it than meets the eye. This class will make the transition to being a digital guru painless, exciting, and fun. Learn about the intricacies of the digital camera, the terminology, tricks of the trade, and how to look for those admirable shots. Familiarize yourself with the digital darkroom, image storage devices, composition, and lens settings. The class ends with a fascinating field study on the grounds of the campus where you will learn to take those sought-after snapshots.

 

Holocaust: History and Theology
Edgewood Hall, Rm. 231

"For today's Jewish community there is no other event as important, no other event as disturbing, no other event as horrifying, no other event that has done more to shape self identity and galvanize commitment to Jewish survival and continuity than the murder of six million European Jews, the Holocaust." With these riveting words of teacher and historian Mottel Baleston, you will explore the Holocaust and learn the importance of studying Jewish history, the guiding principles of Jewish history, and the key approaches to studying Jewish history. Session ends at 3PM.

Expressive Painting in Watercolor
Joppa Hall, Rm. 16

Learn how to use watercolors to be spontaneous and creative, allowing the inner artist in you to emerge. Come and join the class for a zen-like painting session using different techniques that will explore the expressive side of watercolor and you.
