Digital Photography

New to digital photography? There is a lot more to it than meets the eye. This class will make the transition to being a digital guru painless, exciting, and fun. Learn about the intricacies of the digital camera, the terminology, tricks of the trade, and how to look for those admirable shots. Familiarize yourself with the digital darkroom, image storage devices, composition, and lens settings. The class ends with a fascinating field study on the grounds of the campus where you will learn to take those sought-after snapshots.

 

Drawing the Still Life

Tired of drawing a flat-looking or dull old bowl of fruit? Learn the skills and techniques to draw a still life worth your effort. Explore your own expressive ideas as you learn about composition, line, tone, perspective, texture, and proportion. You will also learn how to capture the 3D quality of forms and to create depth in compositions. This session meets from 9:00 - 12:15.

 

Gardening for Condo and Apartment Dwellers

Just because you live in a smaller space doesn't mean you can't continue to garden; you just need to know what plants and vegetables thrive in smaller spaces. Downsize your garden, but not your love for gardening .

 

Financial Planning

Money matters, no matter what your age! This informational session will answer questions about your personal finances. Experts from the financial world will offer insights on topics pertinent to older adults such as long-term care insurance, tax laws affecting older adults, wills, trusts, titling property, and conservative approaches to investing.

 

Toolbars: In-depth Discovery

Take an in-depth look at the standard toolbars found in Microsoft Word. Learn which toolbars are common with other Office programs as well as specialized toolbars such as the drawing toolbar, merging toolbars, and others.
