Transfer Scholarships Available to HCC Graduates    

Harford Community College's transfer scholarships are designed to assist you, an HCC student, pursue a bachelor's degree.  Below are the transfer scholarships that are currently available.

AFCEA Aberdeen Chapter Transfer Scholarship

Based on availability of funds, the Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association (AFCEA) is offering a one-time $2000 transfer scholarship to an HCC graduate.

 

Criteria:

- Must be attending a four year university or college in the summer or fall after HCC  graduation

- Plan to enter a science or engineering field of study supportive of national defense
 (i.e. information technology related, computer science/engineering, electrical  engineering, or mathematics)

- Submit evidence of academic performance

- Two letters of recommendation from school, church, or civic sponsors

- A brief essay explaining academic interests and career goals and how these are supportive of national defense

Alumni & Friends Association Transfer Scholarship

Based on availability of funds, the Alumni & Friends is offering a $500 transfer scholarship to an HCC graduate.

 

Criteria:

- Must be enrolled as a full time or part time student

Must have a minimum of 45 credits
-
Must have GPA of 2.5
-
Must be active in extracurricular activities at HCC
-
Must submit a 100-200 word essay on how HCC has helped with their goals.

Barbara Marcus Transfer Scholarship

Based on availability of funds, the Barbara Marcus scholarship will be awarded to an HCC painting student.  Award amount will be determined annually.

 

Criteria:
- Must complete at least 36 credits, 18 of which must be in an art program of study
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3
- Must be an HCC painting student
- Must provide a portfolio for review

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) Transfers Scholarship

- Must provide a letter of acceptance into a Bachelor of Science STEM program from a
  University System of Maryland institution
- Must be an HCC STEM Associate of Science degree graduate
- Must have an overall HCC GPA of at least 3.0
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Must provide a 500 word essay explaining reason for major and degree intent
- Must provide one letter of recommendation
- Must provide a Harford Community College unofficial transcript
- Must be available for an interview with the SAIC Scholarship Panel if chosen as
  a top candidate

Senior Science Society Transfer Scholarship

Based on availability of funds, the Senior Science Society of Harford County is offering a $2,500 transfer scholarship to a graduate of HCC's STEM program.

 

Criteria:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be a Harford County resident
- Must be a graduate of the HCC STEM program
- Must have an overall GPA 3.2
- Must have a GPA of 3.5 in all STEM courses
- Applicant must present a letter of acceptance into a bachelor's program in Science, Engineering or Mathematics at a four year institution
- Must interview with the Senior Science Society of Harford County Scholarship Committee
