Transcripts in the Admissions Process

New First-time College Students

Official high school or GED transcripts are required if any of the following apply to your application:

  • You are applying for financial aid.
  • You are still enrolled in high school, or you have graduated within the last three years.
  • Your academic goal is an associate degree or certificate.

New Transfer or College Graduate Students

Official college transcripts are required if any of the following apply to your application:

  • You are applying for Veteran's benefits.
  • You are applying for financial aid.
  • You want your previous college credits evaluated for transfer to Harford.
  • You want to determine if you are exempt for the ACCUPLACER mathematics and/or English academic skills assessment requirements. 

Official Transcripts and Test Scores

To be considered official, these items must be:

  • Sent electronically from the originating institution to transcripts@harford.edu
  • Sealed by the originating institution and sent by mail
  • Sealed by the originating institution and hand-delivered

Transcripts must be received by the Registration and Records Office within one year of its print date. Transferring to HCC will provide you with complete information about transferring your test scores and previously earned credit to Harford.
