Harford Community College - The Power to Achieve

Let us help you achieve your goals! Harford Community College practices an open door policy of enrollment and accepts applications for admission year-round. However, for best consideration for Federal Financial Aid and course selection, we encourage students to apply by the following schedule:

  • Winter/Spring Semester(s) – Early September
  • Summer/Fall Semester(s) – Early February

For Example: If you wish to begin courses at HCC in the Fall 2014 semester, you should apply in early February of 2014.

We offer two application methods at HCC. You will need your Social Security Number or ITIN* (Individual Tax Identification Number) to complete your application:

  • Online Application: takes 7-10 business days to process
  • Paper Application: Complete in-person, or download the PDF version, and mail to the Admissions Office.

*If you do not have a SSN or ITIN, please visit the International Admissions and Non-US Citizens page for more information.

**Out-of-State Online Students**
Harford Community College offers online courses and programs to in-state and out-of-state students. A recent higher education policy requires colleges and universities to receive approval from states/jurisdictions to offer classes to their residents. Some states/jurisdictions also charge colleges and universities a fee to offer classes to students who are their residents. This policy does not apply to current or prospective Harford Community College students who live in Maryland.

Harford Community College is approved to offer classes in most states/jurisdictions. However, in order to comply with the policy, Harford Community College is not registering students who reside in the following states/jurisdictions: Arkansas, District of Columbia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Utah and Wyoming. If you have any questions regarding credit registration, please contact the Records and Registration Office at 443-412-2222. For questions regarding the Histotechnology Program in Continuing Education programs, please contact the Continuing Education Office at 443-412-2317. For questions or concerns about the higher education policy, please contact David Mack, Director, Academic Program Enhancement and Partnerships 443-412-2158 or
