For Online Students

Distance education students and faculty have access to all of the same Library resources and services as on-campus students and faculty.

Among the resources available for distance education students and faculty are:

  • The HCC Library tab in Blackboard: Go directly to the Library's most pertinent resources and services without leaving Blackboard! Login to https://harfordcc.blackboard.com to get started.

  • Access to services and resources including interlibrary loan, reciprocal borrowing with Harford County Public Library branches, renewing books online, online tutorials and help guides, and information sources including newspaper, magazine, and journal articles, ebooks, and streaming video with your library barcode number (on the back of HCC ID). Students enrolled only in credit online courses and with a photo ID exemption will receive information about their library card/barcode number through Owlmail. Contact the Manager for Circulation at 443-412-2130 if you have not received your library card number.
  • Ask a Librarian: If you have research questions, Ask a Librarian via chat, text, phone, or email!
  • The Embedded Librarian Service: Faculty may request to have a librarian “embedded” as a support service to students in their Blackboard courses. For more information contact Gina Calia-Lotz, Instructional Services Librarian (x2052).

Visit the HCC Library tab in Blackboard, or explore the Library’s website for access to all of these resources and services!
