Criminal Justice

The Criminal Justice program offers two degree options to meet the needs of students interested in careers in criminal justice.

  • The AA degree option is primarily for students who intend to transfer to a college or university to complete a baccalaureate program. Students gain an overview of various aspects of criminal justice and are prepared to complete the last two years at a four-year institution.
  • The AAS degree option in Legal Studies: Criminal Justice may be used by students who do not intend to transfer to a baccalaureate program. This option may be attractive to those currently employed in the field or who intend to seek employment in the near future.

Students interested in criminal justice are employable in many areas of law enforcement. Some frequently chosen occupations are:

  • Local, state and federal law enforcement officers
  • Probation and parole officers
  • Customs and immigration inspectors
  • Fish and game wardens
  • Park rangers
  • Correctional officers
