Medical Assisting

Medical Assistants are hands-on health workers working alongside doctors, PA's, NP's, and other medical professional in areas ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.

At Harford Community College, we offer a medical assisting degree and certificate program that can prepare you for work in one of the fastest-growing careers in allied health.

The medical assisting program at Harford Community College has a five-year average of 76.7% for job placement for years 2018-2022.

The result of assessment outcomes is in accordance with the 2022 Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Education Programs in Medical Assisting, Standard V.A.4.

With a degree or certificate in medical assisting at Harford, you can prepare for work in the medical field helping those in ambulatory healthcare settings. You can also transfer to a four-year institution to complete your bachelor's degree while gaining foundational knowledge to prepare for a career in allied health.
