Quick Start Guide for Phones and Voice Mail (PDF)

Routine Move, Add, Change requests (MAC orders)

Requestors provide the help desk work order system with user information: name, location current phone extension, etc. Routine MAC orders include voicemail additions or deletions, changes in class of service, and routine feature additions or changes to phones. Also covered as a MAC are relocations of people from one existing phone to another existing phone.

Telephone Problems

Requestors are asked to provide a problem description, extension number and any pertinent details.

Installation of New Phones

New phone installations include the following steps:

  1. A work order is opened for TELEPHONES to wire new phone jack (if needed).
  2. Wiring information is recorded in the phone wiring data base.
  3. An appropriate PBX port and wire pair are assigned.
  4. A new phone is installed and activated.
