The Southern Harford County Rotary Club Establishes Scholarship.
As part of the organization's commitment to education and career development the Southern Harford County Rotary club has created an annual $1,000 scholarship for a student enrolled in the GED program at Harford Community College. The recipient must reside in the Abingdon, Belcamp, Joppa, or Edgewood areas of Harford County.
“Establishing this scholarship for a student who resides in our area of the county supports our mission to assist children as a group or their families to reach their maximum potential,” said Coral Landis, Treasurer for the Club. “Our belief is that you can make a difference by touching one person at a time.”
Made up of business and professional men and women in the community the main objective of Rotary is service - in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals.
You can find more information on the club’s events on their web page http://www.southharfordrotary.org/
