Events And Conferencing

The Office of Events and Conferencing is responsible for providing personal guidance for on and off campus customers with the scheduling, setup, and cleanup of meetings and events, and the cleaning of campus buildings and grounds.

Events Management

Events Management supports the meeting and event needs for all HCC classes and manages overall room usage at the College. We also provide space for meetings and events for public schools, local and state governments, and many other organizations, both nonprofit and private.

Conferencing

Conferencing assists with the event planning process, including food or refreshment orders, audio visual equipment orders, housekeeping and public safety coverage, contracts and billing issues.

Available meeting rooms include:

  • Chesapeake Dining Rooms – North, South and West 
    • North and South can be opened into one room to accommodate 190 people or can be broken into two smaller rooms to accommodate 65 or 120.
    • West is a smaller room for meetings of 18 or fewer.
  • Dr. James F. LaCalle Conference Room E132 can hold 99 people with tables, 150 with chairs, and has a small stage
  • E207 and E209 – small multipurpose rooms for meetings or classes for 20 people
  • Chesapeake Board Room can hold up to 36 people 
  • Classrooms – most hold about 35 people
