WHFC 91.1 FM, Harford Community College Radio, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Maryland Public Television (MPT). Beginning the week of August 24, MPT’s award-winning public affairs programs “State Circle” and “Direct Connection,” both hosted by veteran journalist Jeff Salkin, join WHFC’s lineup, bringing listeners local, current, and relevant news and information. Audio of “State Circle” will air each Monday at noon, with “Direct Connection” airing Tuesdays at noon every week. In addition to their air signal, both will also stream at www.whfc911.org. Additional program sharing is being considered for 2021.

For balanced reporting on political happenings, “State Circle” brings its audience up-to-the-minute, in-depth analysis of major issues and pending bills. Marylanders have turned to MPT's “State Circle” for more than 30 years. No other source brings the audience as much legislative news during the General Assembly session, and State government and political news continues year-round.

“Direct Connection with Jeff Salkin” is a different type of local public affairs program with its focus on personalities from all arenas. Salkin is known for his thorough investigative style and for getting in-depth answers to the questions viewers want asked.

WHFC-FM exists to provide Harford County and surrounding jurisdictions high quality programming as diverse as its listening audience. The station serves as an outstanding resource for Harford Community College students and interested community volunteers desiring a creative outlet and/or future employment in media.
