In partnership with the Harford County Detention Center, Harford Community College's Adult Literacy program held a "College & Career Day" on November 18 at the Detention Center in Forest Hill. Inmates heard speakers from a variety of career fields, such as landscaping, commercial truck driving, and construction. Presentations from HCC's workforce development staff were held about the College's various certificate programs including professions in Nursing and Allied Health. The College's Admissions Office also presented and was available to answer questions. Approximately 45 inmates attended the event. Another "College & Career Day" will take place in spring 2020.
