Harford Cable Network was recently onsite at Edgewood Hall to tape a segment for "Living Well: Making the Most of Your Senior Years," a HCN-exclusive show for Harford County’s senior citizens. The segment, hosted by Tracey Grumbach, one of HCC's continuing education photography instructors, focused on "Tips to Take Better Photos." Tracey relayed three easy but powerful tips related to a photo's composition: fill the frame, the "rule of thirds," and changing perspective when shooting. Other topics that will be part of this quarterly show are Senior Safety at Home, Bonsai Basics, Ballroom Bootcamp, and Exercising to Boost Immunity (also with HCC continuing education fitness instructor Val Collins).

Videographer and editor Kevin Irwin films the segments while HCN producer Karen Frances plans the content of each show and makes arrangements for talent, location, and props. "The 'Living Well' show was created to highlight seniors and their active lifestyles. Producing a senior show opens up a broad range of topics because seniors are living such varied and diverse lives these days, so we try to come up with interesting content every few months that seniors can relate to and learn from," says Karen. "HCC is such a great resource – not only for show ideas, but for the entire community to continue their pursuit of learning. Having subject-matter experts right at our fingertips is a real plus in broadcasting, as well as a huge benefit to the community at large."

The show will air on HCN beginning in April; this and previous shows can also be viewed online at www.HarfordCable.org.
