Alumni are one of Harford Community College’s greatest assets and play an important role in the College’s rich history and tradition. To celebrate their accomplishments, the College annually awards a Distinguished Alumni Award. Nominations are now being accepted for the 2019 award.

“We are very proud of the accomplishments of our alumni. It is our goal at the College to help prepare our students to be the best they can be in life,” said Denise Dregier, director for college and alumni development. “We recognize that many of our students go on to achieve great things and have been very successful both personally and professionally. It is only fitting that the College recognize them for their efforts.”

The award was established in 2014 to honor the achievements of former HCC students. It recognizes an alumnus who has excelled in the following areas:

  • Outstanding success and distinction in their chosen field/profession
  • Commitment to the community and charitable outreach
  • Continued interest in and service to Harford Community College

The award will be presented during the College’s commencement ceremony on May 23, 2019.

To be considered, the applicant must be an alumnus, having taken a course at the College. Self-nominations and posthumous applications will also be considered. The nominee must commit, at the time of the application submission, to attend the College’s commencement ceremony. The deadline for submission is February 28, 2019.

Previous winners are Patricia A. Thompson, DNP, RN; Chuck Boyle; Ann B. Ramsay; Charles H. Jacobs, Jr.; and David and Diane Dixon.
