Choose Civility Harford County is a countywide grassroots campaign designed to uplift our community by promoting respect, restraint, and responsibility throughout Harford County, including the Internet. Harford Community College is an Alliance Partner in the effort.
Choose Civility Harford County was launched to promote respect, empathy and tolerance in our community. Nearly 300 leaders representing diverse interest groups attended the introductory event on June 27, 2018 at Water’s Edge in Belcamp. The gathering was hosted by County Executive Barry Glassman and Harford County Public Library CEO Mary Hastler. Valerie J. Gross, founder of the national Choose Civility movement, was the featured speaker.
Harford County Public Library (HCPL) is the lead organization of the Choose Civility Harford County initiative in partnership with Harford County Government.
Critical to the success of Choose Civility, Alliance Partners are Harford County, MD-based organizations, businesses, government departments, faith-based organizations, and educational institutions. Alliance Partners extend the initiative’s reach throughout Harford County to build awareness, involvement, and commitment.
