HCC Library will be celebrating National Library Week from April 9-13 with this year’s theme, Libraries Lead! Visit the interactive Discovery Room in L214 for something new every day.

  • Monday: Libraries Lead to Learning with a Research Party. Food and drinks provided!
  • Tuesday: Libraries Lead to Exploration – check out our A/V Technology Petting Zoo.
  • Wednesday: Libraries Lead to Adventure during our popular Retro Video Game Day.
  • Thursday: Libraries Lead to Discovery – There are unique government documents and other items from your favorite FDLP library!
National Library Week

Other events include Secret Seat prizes and a fun OwlSearch discovery system scavenger hunt. Participate in any National Library Week event and enter to win a pair of Sony Wireless headphones ($100 value). Runners-up can win a plant.

Also, the HCC Library Used Book Sale will be held April 9-16 on the 2nd floor of the Library. There will be lots of fiction and nonfiction books, children's books, cookbooks, CDs, DVDs, games, and more.  All proceeds benefit the Harford Community College Library Textbook Scholarship Fund.

Associate Professor Dr. Andrew Kellett will read from and discuss his new book, The British Blues Network: Adoption, Emulation, and Creativity. He will speak on Wednesday, April 11 at 2 p.m. in Edgewood Hall, Room 132. The event is free and open to the general public, but seating is limited. One lucky attendee will win a copy of the book. All participants can enter to win the National Library Week door prize, a pair of Sony wireless headphones.
