Exhibit of Jade Hoyer’s Artwork at Chesapeake Gallery Through January 5

"First and Next,” an exhibition by Jade Hoyer, is on display in the Chesapeake Gallery located in the Student Center at Harford Community College through January 5, 2018.

"In my artwork I draw upon the visual languages of systems, including charts, symbols, repetition, and color-coding. I reflect upon race, privilege, and intersectionality (sociologist Kimberle Crenshaw’s research that experiences associated with race, gender, class, etc., cumulatively inform one another) and address social issues. My artwork is my means to make sense of the world and its fallacies; it is also my means to change it," stated artist Jade Hoyer. In the exhibition at the Chesapeake Gallery, Jade Hoyer plans to address educational issues based at the community college level.

The Chesapeake Gallery is open Monday to Thursday, 8:30 AM to 7 PM, and Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The public is invited to visit the exhibition.
