Trying to navigate financial aid? Looking for ways to make college affordable? Harford Community College welcomes all in the community to You Can Afford College on Saturday, November 11, from 9 AM to 1 PM in Joppa Hall. It is important to arrive before 12:30 PM to ensure that there is adequate time to complete the FAFSA.

No matter which college one chooses, filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is the first step—and HCC can help. Financial Aid specialists will walk participants, step-by-step, through the process of completing the FAFSA. Bring the following items for both students and their parents: FAFSA Worksheet (available at; FSA ID Number (available at; Social Security Numbers; 2016 Federal Income Tax Returns; 2016 W-2 Statements; and 2016 Untaxed Income Reports.

The FAFSA is used by most colleges to determine and/or distribute financial aid. It is recommended that everyone fill out the form even if they don’t believe they are eligible for federal funds, as many colleges require it to distribute private scholarships or academic awards.

Please note that Harford Community College provides this service for all students and parents. You do not need to be a Harford Community College student to attend.
