Reminisce about APG's prominence as a place of innovation and cutting edge technology. Free community discussion; general public welcome. Oct. 12, 12:30 & 2 PM, Hays-Heighe House

Did you or a family member work at Aberdeen Proving Ground for the military or a defense contractor? Join our community discussion and reminisce about APG's long-standing prominence as a place of innovation and cutting edge technology on Thursday, October 12, at 12:30 and again at 2 PM at the Hays-Heighe House on the campus of Harford Community College. The event is free and open to the general public. Seating is limited, so reservations are recommended. Call 443-412-2539 or email haysheighe@harford.edu to reserve a seat.

After the discussion, browse the “APG Tech Revolution” exhibit also at the Hays-Heighe House, on display through October 27. Over its 100 years of history, Aberdeen Proving Ground has seen and been part of numerous technological advances. Much technology originally developed for the military eventually finds its way into everyday civilian life. Learn about the surprising origins of a host of innovations, from canning to blood banks to jeeps. The exhibit is also open Tuesdays, 1-3 PM; Thursdays: 3-5 PM; Fridays, 10 AM-12 PM; and 1st Saturdays, 10 AM-12 PM.
