Harford Community College’s Destination ImagiNation (DI) team soared this year, taking first place in their category in the Maryland State Tournament and then competing with teams from around the world at the Global Finals at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN.
The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Apprenticeship Program, a result of a partnership with HACCMD is fully approved and accredited by the U.S. Department of Labor, Maryland Apprenticeship and Training Council, and the Veterans Administration.
Harford Community College students Caitlin Bechtel and Casey Garnett were nominated for the 2015 All-USA Community College Academic Team. The team recognizes high achieving two-year college students who demonstrate academic excellence and intellectual rigor combined with leadership and service that extends beyond the classroom to benefit society.
The Pinning Ceremony for 49 Harford Community College associate degree nursing graduates was held in the Amoss Center on May 19. This ceremony, which is shared with family and friends, is viewed by most of these students as the culmination of their education at HCC. After four semesters of clinical nursing, they enjoy celebrating with their classmates, who many have come to think of as their extended family.
Harford Community College honored Chuck Boyle with the 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award for his professional achievements as well as his lifelong commitment to the community and to the College at the College’s 57th Annual Commencement Ceremony on May 21.
James J. Valdes, Ph.D. has been reelected Chair and Richard D. Norling has been reelected Vice Chair of the Harford Community College Board of Trustees.

Andrew Kellett, Assistant Professor of History; Dr. Alexandra Adams, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services; and Tami Imbierowicz, Associate Professor of Biology were named recipients of the 2015 National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development Awards.
On June 6, 2015, students received their Certificate of Completion in the Veterinary Assistant Program during a ceremony held in Darlington Hall at Harford Community College.
