Two upcoming Open House events at Harford Community College will give individuals interested in entering the plumbing trade (and mechanical and plumbing contractors looking for employees) the opportunity to learn more about the new Plumbing Apprenticeship program. The Open Houses will take place on Friday, July 26, and Friday, August 2, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. in the College’s Edgewood Hall, Room 163.

Three Harford Community College employees have been named recipients of the 2013 National Institute
for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Awards. Jan M. Brewer, Assistant Professor of
Sociology and Social Work; Deborah Jaeger, Mathematics faculty; and Dr. Scott Schaeffer, Assistant
Professor of Biology, were named recipients of the 2013 NISOD Excellence Awards.
Volunteers are needed to assist with Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes in reading/writing and
math as well as English as a Second Language (ESL) classes offered by Harford Community
College at various locations throughout Harford County this summer.
