HCC Provides Free Online Learning Resources for Youth

Harford Community College is stepping up to help keep Harford County’s youth engaged and active during this stay-at-home time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Professor Colleen Webster Interviewed by International Publication

Harford Community College Professor of Humanities Colleen Webster was recently quoted in an editorial entitled, “We need more researchers in Women’s History Month” on the highly regarded London-based website nature.com. The piece reviewed various women who made their place in scientific history and referenced Colleen’s “one-woman show” on the life of environmental pioneer Rachel Carson.

Electrical Apprenticeship Program Update

The Electrical Apprenticeship Program’s in-person classes are canceled and students will be completing the school year through online distance learning. Assignments, which were emailed, are due no later than April 30.

Harford Community College Receives PLANT Award

The Maryland Urban and Community Forest Committee of the MD Association of District Forestry Boards, in partnership with the MD Department of Natural Resources Forest Service, has awarded Harford Community College with the Gold PLANT (People Loving and Nurturing Trees) Award for 2019.

April is Community College Month

Harford Community College is proud to be one of the 16 members of the Maryland Association of Community Colleges. There are more than 1,100 community colleges in the United States.

HCC Student Named Coca-Cola Academic Team Gold Scholar

Quinn Bero was named a 2020 Coca-Cola Academic Team Gold Scholar, earning a $1,500 scholarship for his scores in the All-USA Academic Team competition.

Foster Named NJCAA All-American

Kelvajha Foster earned a 2020 NJCAA D1 All-American Honorable Mention and made the All-Maryland JUCO Conference team.

HCC GenCyber Smart Girls Camp for Middle School Students Promotes Cybersecurity as a Future Career Choice

The National Science Foundation and National Security Agency recently awarded a grant to Harford Community College to fund the College’s “GenCyber Smart Girls Camp,” a one-week, non-residential cybersecurity summer day camp.

Owl Magazine Keeps on Winning

Owl Magazine, the student publication of Harford Community College, won two national awards for multimedia content. Both of these awards were in four-year college categories, making the recognition especially noteworthy.
