Harford Community College Foundation is Finalist in United Way’s Changemaker Challenge: Watch Livestream and Vote

30 April 2024

The Harford Community College Foundation has been named a finalist in the 2024 United Way of Central Maryland’s Changemaker Challenge. The College is one of eight finalists in Harford County.

A livestream pitch event will take place on May 16 from 6 to 8:30 PM at Towson University in Northeastern Maryland (TUNE). Hear from local social entrepreneurs and organizations with big ideas, see thousands of dollars granted to support innovation, and vote for the $5,000 audience choice grant. Register for the livestream event.

Harford Community College’s Nursing department will pitch an idea for a Standardized Patient Program to enhance training where actors play the role of patients in situations that the College’s manikins cannot replicate. For example, an actor may portray a victim of a stroke or mental health crisis, or someone experiencing alcohol withdrawal.

The Changemaker Challenge is a social innovation competition to highlight and award ideas in Central Maryland. Visit uwcm.org/ChangemakerChallenge to learn more.

LIVESTREAM

People can continue to register through Thursday, the livestream will start at 6:30 p.m. when the live event begins.
