Cybersecurity Club and Competitions

Cybersecurity club offers unique ways to learn and opportunities to network with peers.

A chance for students to network, practice and hone skills, and experience unique opportunities to study cybersecurity in a fun setting.

Students participating in the Cyber Defense Association (CDA) have the opportunity to learn from their contemporaries and practice technical skills such as threat detection and prevention and more. Students can further prepare for industry certifications by utilizing software and technology in the new cybersecurity labs. Students also develop leadership and other soft skills like teamwork, communication, and problem solving. Industry thought leaders share information on the latest threats and trends as well as career opportunities at club meetings. Although the CDA is student led, faculty advisors provide guidance, support, and career assistance by helping with resumes and providing internship and job connections.

Competitions are another fun and challenging way for students to test their skills against peers, both locally and nationally. These stimulating events provide the perfect occasion to students to showcase offensive competencies by assessing and exploiting vulnerabilities and defensive prowess with systems defense and infrastructure hardening. Engagement in competitions is viewed very favorably by employers and often leads to job opportunities.
