Degree Granting Programs

About

Associate of Applied Sciences degree as
well as a certificate in Interior Decorating.
The program helps students to explore the
field and prepare them for a successful career.

Sample Course Offerings:

  • Introduction to Interior Design
  • CADD for Interior Design
  • Space Planning
  • Business Practices for Interior Designers
  • Residential Interiors
  • Commercial Interiors

The Future Interior Designers Organization is a student group that has been featured in
various publications for their work with the annual Decorators Showcase. Some students
have won awards and scholarships at industry-sponsored design competitions.

Life After the Interior Design Program

Students are sought after to serve as interns in local design firms in a variety of job-related
applications. Graduates excel at four-year institutions and in the workplace because they
are well trained in the basics of design. Many HCC graduates are employed in architectural
and interior design firms throughout the Baltimore-Washington area.

Several graduates have launched their own successful design firms.
