Test Overview
The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is one of the requirements for
admission to the HCC Nursing Program. TEAS
is a multiple-choice assessment of basic skills in the academic content area of
Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English and Language usage.
Harford Community College uses
the TEAS version V.
The TEAS test was created by Assessment Technologies Institute®
(ATI ). ATI offers the following items to
prepare for TEAS:

Test Registration and Payment
TEAS testing at Harford Community College will
be available during the months of January and August during specific testing
periods. Testing at HCC is for students applying to the HCC nursing
program who meet all of the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled at HCC OR have
attended classes within the last two academic years
- Successfully completed three credits in
residence at HCC
Students must preregister and prepay online directly
through the ATI website.
The total test cost is $65. Payment is accepted using major credit cards. A fee
will not be collected at the Test Center. To register for TEAS testing at HCC, visit
www.atitesting.com Select
Register for TEAS in the lower right menu. Students who apply
for admission to the nursing program for Summer/Fall 2013 may register online
beginning November 15, 2012 for testing in January 2013.

Registration closes 24 hours before the testing
date or when the available slots (seats) are full. All students preparing to take the TEAS test must
have an ATI account. An account may be created
by going to the ATI website, www.atitesting.com,
and clicking on create a new account and following the screen prompts.
For Institution Option, select Harford CC
TEAS.
Please be sure to include your HCC student
ID number (example: H00123456) in your profile page. To add your HCC student
ID number to your existing profile, log-in to your ATI student home page and
edit your profile. All candidates taking the TEAS test at Harford
Community College MUST have a valid Harford student ID number in their ATI
profile.
Applicants who are not HCC students or HCC
students who will not be able to test during the
specified times at HCC can complete the TEAS at a local PSI Test Center.
To register at one of these locations, visit
www.atitesting.com and select Register
for TEAS with PSI.

Test scores will be available online at
www.atitesting.com after the
completion of the test. You must log in to the ATI website to obtain test
scores.
Test scores are valid for two years from the date of the test. Harford Community
College will use the scores associated with the highest Adjusted Individual
Score.
Students who have tested at other schools or locations can request to have
their
TEAS scores sent to Harford Community College for a fee. The request should
be made no later than February 15th. The request
should be made through the ATI website,
www.atitesting.com, in the online store by selecting
the TEAS Transcript
option.

Students are able to test and re-test
once within a two year period.

Students must arrive at least 30 minutes
prior to the start of the test and must bring their ATI username and password, and
HCC student ID.
