Test
Security and Academic Dishonesty
If a student is observed cheating in the Test
Center, he/she will be stopped and any unauthorized materials
(inappropriate calculators, cell phone, notes, etc) will be collected.
The Test Center staff will indicate which questions
were completed with the unauthorized materials. We inform the student
that an academic dishonesty report will be sent to the Associate Vice
President for Student Development, the Instructor, and the Division
Dean.
At this point the
student can finish the exam.
The instructor will determine how the incident will
affect the student’s grade. The Associate Vice President for Student
Development will administer the appropriate student code sanction.
After the student has completed the exam, we return
any unauthorized materials, such as cell phone and calculator to the
student. WE DO NOT RETURN ANY NOTES OR PAPERS TO THE STUDENT.
Test Center Staff will write a detailed report and
attach the report and all unauthorized notes or papers, etc. to the
completed exam.
