REPORTING CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES

Report any suspicious activity or emergency to Department of Public Safety  by dialing ext. 2272 from any campus phone or 443-412-2272 from an outside line.  Department of Public Safety staff are on duty 24 hours a day 365 days a year and are located in the first floor of the Library.

HCC will inform students and staff in a timely manner of any criminal activity or security situation that may pose a threat to the safety of persons on campus.  Such information will be distributed through electronic mail, emergency notification via ALERT ME , bulletin boards, notices, or by HCC personnel.

HCC employs Special Police Officers who are commissioned with powers of arrest and the enforcement of criminal and motor vehicle laws on campus.  Most incidents on campus are investigated by HCC Special Police Officers.  Harford County Sheriff's Office may be called upon to assist HCC Special Police Officers in certain incidents when the circumstances warrant or upon request of the victim.
