Boating Safety/Chesapeake Boat Builders
| Basic Coastal Navigation |
Provides skills for piloting safely within coastal and inland waterways. Topics will include how to select and read charts; use of charting tools; planning voyages; plotting using both dead reckoning and lines of position; and how to compute time, speed, and distance. Course fee includes chart and text. Information on navigational tools will be given at first class. Senior adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply.

| Maryland Basic Boating Certification |
This course is designed to provide the student with instruction in boating skills necessary to meet the certification requirements of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police. Topics to be covered include types of vessels, navigational aids, marine weather, regulations, emergency actions, personal watercraft, and maneuvering. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certification card. This course meets the Maryland Boating Safety Education Act requirement needed for persons born after July 1, 1972 to operate a registered pleasure vessel on Maryland waters. Senior adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply.
