| Green 101: An Introduction to Sustainability |
Wish you knew more about the Green movement, including its past, present, and future? This course includes information about the History of Sustainability, current Green trends such as LEED (and other) Rating systems, carbon footprint/ offsets, smart growth, and renewable energy. It also will touch on strategies and implementation related to site development, building design/orientation, an overview on energy efficiency and water conservation, recycled and renewable materials, and indoor environment. If you would like to begin incorporating sustainable strategies and energy savings into your home or business, this course provides the basic information to get you headed in the right direction. Senior adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply.

| Green Business Practices |
This is a certification program designed for business leaders. Students will learn how to create a more green building and master concepts such as recycling, sustainability, green certifications and green standards. Students will learn how to develop a business energy plan that includes the amount of energy used to produce a product and/or offer services to clients, understanding the environmental impact in conducting business, and how to measure and conserve water usage. This course is ARELLO approved and is a nationally recognized level one certification for the licensed real estate agent. Students will gain insight on what real estate professionals may see as clients begin to show interest in these new types of renovations. We review the energy rating, energy mortgage concepts and green certification process and qualify a real estate professionals’ role as these new inquiries enter the marketplace.
