Dreamweaver, a powerful website development program, is the choice of many web page developers. Dreamweaver takes advantage of the latest generation of browsers making it easy to use advanced Cascading Style Sheets and dynamic HTML features. This course introduces students to Dreamweaver's environment. Topics include initial planning of a site, designing and using layers, building tables, creating animated banners, page layout, site management, image maps, tracing images, rollovers, forms, and interactivity. Students will build dynamic web pages. Prerequisite: Working knowledge of Windows and file management. Software recommended and 2GB USB flash drive required. First class in a four class sequence. | Web Graphics with PhotoShop & Fireworks |
Learn to use Photoshop and Fireworks to create high-quality, low-bandwidth graphics for the web. Students create images, use the toolbox and tool options palette, create layers and channels, work with paint and text tools, and learn color and color corrections. Students will use Fireworks to create the smallest possible GIF, animated GIF, and JPEG graphics in the fewest possible steps and edit text, graphics, and effects. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Dreamweaver. Software recommended and 2GB USB flash drive required. Second class in a four class sequence. Cannot substitute with an online course. This class is designed for students who are part of the Web Graphic Design certification program and want to learn how to incorporate ColdFusion into their website. Basic knowledge of HTML and SQL and previous programming experience useful but not required. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Dreamweaver, Web Graphics with Photoshop & Fireworks, and basic understanding of HTML . Software recommended. Textbook and 2GB USB flash drive required. Learn to use Flash, a vector-based application for creating animation on the web that downloads quickly and takes up less file space. Topics include drawing in Flash, overlays, frames, layers, symbols, motion tweening, color and transparency effects, importing and tracing, masks, motion guides, and buttons.
