Applied Electronic Health Records  
As a federal mandate, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology initiated that all persons, practitioners, clinics, and hospitals must have Electronic Health Records (EHRs) by 2015 to enable information exchange between healthcare providers and public health authorities. Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to document patient information using this new technology. Topics include transitioning to EHR, data entry and computer requirements, maintaining an EHR in the clinical setting, usage of personal health records, and HIPAA compliance and ethics. Healthcare Provider CPR  
This course is designed for medical care providers and provides instruction for CPR (one- and two-rescuer) and relief of choking for the adult, child, and infant victim. Topics include the use of airway devices like the bag valve mask and various pocket masks. All participants must be able to kneel on the floor beside a manikin for extended periods of time. There is a 25-question test with a passing score of 84% required. The required text is the AHA Healthcare Provider Book and should be purchased and read prior to class. ICD-10 Medical Coding  
ICD-10 is an upgraded diagnostic and procedural medical coding system that, by law, must be implemented throughout the healthcare industry by October 1, 2014. This new coding system is radically different from the version currently in use, so it’s important to start preparing for and implementing the massive changes to the existing coding system. In order to take this program, you should have some knowledge of medical terminology. Education in anatomy and physiology is strongly recommended, but not required.
