Learn to automate business finances including how to set up a new or existing company and enter customers, vendors, invoices, cash sales, bills, items bought and sold, and resale items. Additional topics include tracking expenses and income by job or client; monitoring and paying sales tax; receiving and depositing payments and reconciling bank statements; and printing invoices, statements, payroll checks, and reports. Reports include profit and loss, balance sheets, trial balances, journals, and cash flow. Prerequisites: Knowledge of accounting and working knowledge of Windows. USB Flash Drive required. Learn to set up and process payroll checks, direct deposits, and payroll returns via Quickbooks Pro. Practice the basics of working with Quickbooks Payroll including setting up payroll items, adding and terminating employees, tracking vacation and sick time, setting up miscellaneous additions and deductions to paychecks, recording retirement plan deferrals, adding employer and employee paid insurance plans, and calculating and paying payroll liabilities. Learn when to file Federal and State payroll and unemployment forms, and how to file both via online and with paper. Create 1099’s and W-2’s and associated year end required mailings and returns.
