STRATEGIC THEME I

HARFORD COMMUNITY COLLEGE EXEMPLIFIES EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE AND EFFECTIVENESS.

  1. Ensure a learning-centered culture that fosters student success.

  2. Assess, improve, and advance program design, content, and delivery of educational programs.

  3. Assess, improve, and advance College policies, procedures, and practices to promote successful teaching and learning.

  4. Incorporate environmentally sustainable practices into teaching and learning.


STRATEGIC THEME II

HARFORD COMMUNITY COLLEGE PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT TO ADVANCE STUDENT SUCCESS.

  1. Enrich support services for students throughout the College community.

  2. Provide students with the appropriate services to enhance their marketability in career fields and/or ensure seamless transfer opportunities.

  3. Create a campus climate where students enjoy high levels of satisfaction with their college experience.

  4. Enhance opportunities for personal development through superior programs and activities for students.


STRATEGIC THEME III

HARFORD COMMUNITY COLLEGE EMBRACES A DIVERSE CULTURE OF LEARNING.

  1. Promote and sustain a welcoming environment that embraces diversity.

  2. Increase diversity throughout the campus population.

  3. Broaden the global perspective of the campus community.


STRATEGIC THEME IV

HARFORD COMMUNITY COLLEGE ENGAGES AND COLLABORATES WITH EDUCATION, BUSINESS, GOVERNMENT, AND COMMUNITY.

  1. Engage with business, government, education, and community to review, develop, and improve College programs and initiatives. 

  2. Create and enhance workforce development programs in response to emerging labor market needs, such as those created by the Base Realignment and Closure.

  3. Coordinate higher education partnerships to provide educational opportunities and economic development for the region.

  4. Pursue opportunities for collaborative initiatives through expanded relationships with K-12 educational partners.

  5. Foster partnerships to enrich the cultural, recreational, and lifelong learning opportunities offered by the College.


STRATEGIC THEME V

HARFORD COMMUNITY COLLEGE DEVELOPS RESOURCES AND INFRASTRUCTURE TO SUPPORT ITS MISSION AND VISION.

  1. Attract, develop, and retain talented, committed, and diverse employees.

  2. Promote a collegial environment that values shared governance and improves campus climate.

  3. Maximize and expand financial resources.

  4. Strengthen the College infrastructure to support growth. 

  5. Strengthen the College-wide assessment of institutional effectiveness.

  6. Adopt and maintain technology appropriate to the needs of the College.

  7. Model environmentally sustainable practices.

  1. Promote the College as a primary resource for the community.
