Login Information for Credit Students
Beginning with the Fall 2008 semester, credit will login to OwlNet to
access eLearning content. To login to your account, visit
http://owlnet.harford.edu and
use your HCC Network username and password. If you do not know your HCC
Network username, contact the Technology Help Desk at 410-836-4477,
option 3.
After logging in to OwlNet, click the tab titled "My Courses". You
will see a list of your courses organized by semester. Click the title
of the course you want to access, and your course will launch in a new
window. Courses using Blackboard will launch the Blackboard website and
take you directly to your course. Courses not using Blackboard will open
Course Studio, which may contain further links or instructions.
Please note that you will not be able to
access Blackboard course content until the semester start date.
NOTE: If you have taken a Blackboard course prior to the Fall 2008
semester,
you may have used a different web address to login to Blackboard.
Beginning with the Fall 2008 semester, you should only access Blackboard
via OwlNet - using a different method may cause problems with your
account.

Notes about Blackboard:
Java
Blackboard uses Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE), your computer
will need to have the correct version of JAVA to access all
Blackboard features properly. Detailed information and installation
instructions can be found at
http://www.harford.edu/online/plugins.asp.
Access Codes
When you access your course for the first time you may see a message
asking for an additional access code to enter the course, this can
be found bundled with your new textbook purchased from the HCC
College Store 410-836-4209. Textbooks can be ordered online at
http://bookstore.harford.edu or by direct purchase.
On-site Requirements
Be sure to check the eLearning website for any on-site orientations
specific to your course. Go to http://www.harford.edu/online and
click on “Distance Learning Calendar of Events” located on the
left-hand menu. Your instructor may also require some testing to be
completed on campus or at an approved proxy location, check your
course syllabus for details.
