Confused by all of the information in the library and on the Web?

Information Literacy instruction helps you to locate, evaluate and use information effectively.  You can learn how to do effective searches using the online catalog, online databases and the Internet. You can learn about the library and the availability of resources face-to-face or through an online experience using the tutorials.

Mission Statement:

Our Information Literacy program seeks to provide students with the strategies and techniques for gathering, evaluating, and applying  information to create a new knowledge base. Classes and workshops strongly emphasize the critical examination of resources along with introducing students to a wide variety of information formats.

Goals of Information Literacy Program
  • To prepare students to make effective life-long use of information resources.

  • To support faculty in providing students with the skills needed to succeed in college.

  • To facilitate the campus community's productivity through continuous awareness and use of the library's resources.

  • To communicate and partner with the College community to foster information literacy awareness.
