Starting salary range:  $52,089 - $59,900

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Vice President for Instruction, the Director for Library and Information Resources is responsible for the administration of the library and provides leadership to division faculty and staff. 

Specific responsibilities include budget development and management; facilities management; and oversight of information literacy initiatives, collection development, technical services, circulation, reference, and reserve operations.  The Director for Library and Information Resources participates in assessment and program review initiatives and serves on a variety of committees and task groups involved in community outreach and development activities.  The director also serves as an effective member of the College's academic management team, evaluates current and future operational strategies, and represents the College in local and regional organizations as appropriate.

The Director for Library and Information Resources is a 12-month administrative position scheduled to being August 1, 2008.  
 

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will have five or more years of higher education leadership experience, including supervisory and evaluation responsibilities as well as oversight of library operations.  Teaching experience is preferred.  A master's degree in library science is required; a doctorate in a related field or in higher education is preferred.  Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with learning outcomes assessment and/or program development or operations improvement. 

Candidates should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytic skills for collection analysis, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
