RESPONSIBILITIES: The coordinator provides leadership to and supervises the credit instructional health and physical education department, and teaches heath and physical education classes.

Duties include, but are not limited to, curriculum development (currently seven health courses and 28 physical education courses); hiring, supervising, and evaluating two full-time faculty, 15+ adjunct faculty, and one full-time manager/staff of the fitness center; developing and scheduling HPE class schedule; writing and assessing academic outcomes; addressing students' issues and questions; managing budgets; managing facilities; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor. 

This is an exempt, professional staff position.

REQUIREMENTS:

A master's degree in health, physical education, or exercise science and five to seven years of related  experience are required, including experience teaching in alternative delivery modes, such as online and hybrid courses, and proficiency with teaching and learning using Web 2.0 technologies; college-level teaching experience preferred.  Applicants should be proficient with student information systems and the MS Office Suite. 

CPR, AED, Fitness Certifications preferred, or the willingness to obtain them upon employment.
