Fitness Center Manager

Starting Salary Range:  $40,105 - $48,125

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Fitness Center Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the College's newly-renovated fitness center.  Duties include hiring, training, and supervising part-time staff; developing, implementing, and presenting fitness/wellness workshops and programs for students and employees; providing coverage and ensuring staffing for Fitness Center hours of operation; maintaining current knowledge of technology, materials, equipment, and techniques associated with fitness and wellness; maintaining files and databases and generating reports; managing the departmental budget; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisors.  The Fitness Center Manager is also responsible for teaching physical education classes. 

This is an exempt, professional staff position.

REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree in physical education, exercise science, fitness technology, or kinesiology; three years of experience in fitness training, teaching, or fitness center management; experience in developing and implementing wellness programs; and supervisory experience are required.  College-level teaching experience is preferred.  Applicants must be proficient in a Windows-based computer environment.

Candidates must possess a current CPR/AED and nationally-recognized personal training or strength and conditioning certification, or be willing to obtain them.
