Starting Salary Range:  $31,808 - $36,579

RESPONSIBILITIES:

HCC is seeking a highly organized and customer service-oriented individual to provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to the Dean of the College's Division of Visual, Performing, and Applied Arts. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and/or revising/proofing correspondence, memos, reports, agendas, tests, classroom handouts, textbook requests, syllabi, schedules, proposals, and documents; collecting and assembling data for budget preparation; developing and maintaining databases for faculty progress related to professional development, rank, and tenure; compiling data and completing reports required by accrediting agencies; entering data into automated student information system for class schedule preparation and maintenance; preparing and/or entering data into assessment database; receiving and assisting visitors and answering inquiries; maintaining the dean's electronic calendar; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor. 

This is a non-exempt, classified staff position.  Normal work schedule is Mondays to Fridays, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Work schedule may be adjusted based on the needs of the division as determined by the dean. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

An associate's degree and three or more years of related administrative or clerical experience are required.  Candidates must be proficient in a Windows-based computer environment, with experience in MS Office programs and working with electronic databases.  Position requires excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to multi-task, trouble-shoot, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.  Equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience may be considered.
 

PREFERRED: Banner experience; ability to create and/or maintain social media and/or Web page design; experience in planning and/or support of special events; cultural events/arts experience.
