The faculty member is primarily
responsible for teaching a variety of developmental mathematics
courses through Algebra II. However, the faculty member
will also be required to teach mathematics credit courses at the
100 and 200 levels as needed, including, but not limited to,
College Algebra, Contemporary Mathematics, Trigonometry, and
Calculus I and II. The faculty member will also assist in
developing divisional syllabi, divisional tests and quizzes, as
well as divisional assessment projects related to program goals.
In addition, faculty members are
expected to stay current in their disciplines and in teaching
methodologies; implement changes in instruction based on
assessment results; maintain reasonable, distributed office
hours; develop and revise curriculum; mentor adjunct faculty; participate in a variety
of college committees and task forces; and advise students as appropriate.
Faculty members are also expected to demonstrate leadership
skills in teaching, discipline activities and college service,
as well as participate in community service.
This 10-month, tenure-track position
is scheduled to begin August 2013.
