Student Programming Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Student Programming Specialist serves as support staff for student development programs and activities that provide opportunities for students to develop an ongoing relationship with the campus and community.  Duties include, but are not limited to, planning, marketing, implementing, and assessing a variety of College Life programs including Leadership programs, Welcome Week, and spring programming; supervising events on and off campus for the College Life office and student clubs, including driving HCC vehicles*; working collaboratively with various College departments; presenting workshops in the specialist's areas of expertise; and other duties as assigned.

This hourly staff position requires up to 20 hours per week with a combination of day, evening, and weekend hours as necessary.
 

REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree and two years of experience in a related field are required.  Other requirements include excellent communication, organizational, and human relations skills, as well as computer proficiency in a Windows-based environment.  Knowledge of event programming and management, student leadership programs, college and/or community college experience, and demonstrated work with students of diverse backgrounds is preferred. 

A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required. *Candidates must be at least 25 years of age to drive college vehicles due to insurance regulations.
