Alternative/Private Loans

Harford Community College does not have a preferred lender arrangement.  Please contact the financial institution of your choice to obtain a alternative/private education loan. Note:  The total requested amount of the loan may not exceed your total cost of attendance minus any other aid awarded.

Borrowing Limits

Beginning with the 2012-2013 aid year Harford Community College has been selected by the U.S. Department of Education as an Experimental Site for the Direct Loan Program—Limiting Unsubsidized Loan Amounts.  Participation in this program exempts HCC from the statutory and regulatory provisions HEA Section 479A(c) and CFR 685.301(a)(8).

Under this program, HCC will reduce unsubsidized Direct Loan eligibility to all students, except those who have been accepted into the HCC AAS Nursing Program.  Nursing students can view borrowing limits at www.studentaid.ed.gov
