Message from the Dean
The faculty and staff welcome you to the STEM
Division. You are invited to explore the high-quality Science,
Technology, Engineering and Math programs and courses offered at Harford
Community College.
Why study a STEM discipline? The number of jobs
requiring engineering and scientific training is growing. The demands
for innovation in our technology-driven economy require scientists and
engineers who can produce and implement ideas. The STEM programs at
Harford Community College combine discipline-specific knowledge with
investigative and technical skills that can prepare you for a rewarding
career. Studying science, math and engineering provides you with
valuable skills in discovery, critical analysis and communication that
are sought after by employers in industry, medicine, government and
education. These programs also develop the lifelong learning skill of
scientific literacy, to help you identify scientific issues underlying
national and local decisions, understand and predict natural phenomena,
assess the validity of conclusions, and more.
Harford Community College offers programs of study in
mathematics,
engineering,
biology,
physics,
chemistry, and
environmental science
that prepare you for transfer to a four-year program. We also offer certificates and degrees in
science laboratory technology and
environmental technology that
prepare you for immediate employment in a science/technology field. For students
majoring in other disciplines and for those exploring an interest in
science, engineering, and math, we offer a wide variety of courses for
you to choose from.
If you would like more information about a particular course or field of
study in these areas, please email us at
