Disability and Student Intervention Services is dedicated to helping students with documented disabilities access all of the educational opportunities and services offered by the College.
Out of an abundance of caution, Harford Community College will continue with online-only instruction for Summer 2020. Courses that had previously been listed as face-to-face or hybrid will move to an online-only model or be canceled as our physical campus remains closed to students and non-essential personnel. DSIS will continue to be available via email for any questions or concerns email@example.com.
During this time, all disability meetings, such as, DSIS orientation, academic advising, and assistive technology will be conducted via Microsoft Teams. If you have a scheduled meeting you will receive instructions from DSIS on how to connect through Microsoft Teams.
There are significant differences in how students obtain accommodations in college than in high school. Academic accommodations are not automatically put in place; students must be self advocates and request services. Students who wish to obtain accommodations for their classes must follow Disability and Student Intervention Services (DSIS) procedures:
