EVITA

Phoenix Festival Theater

Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Lyrics by Tim Rice, Directed by Allan Herlinger — This lavish drama is a hit Broadway musical depicting the infamous reallife story of Eva "Evita" Duarte de Peron, the wife of President Juan Peron, who rose from poverty to become the most famous Argentine woman in history. Her huge political influence, sexual prowls and constant charity works earned her scorn and fear from the military and upper classes but adoration and love from the workers. Evita remains a legend and her story of love, sex, and politics depicts all the battles and triumphs she had in her short but amazing life. With classic memorable ballads like "Don't Cry For Me Argentina","High Flying Adored", and "Buenos Aires" — Evita is a must see!
