Why Should I Get Involved?
What's In It For Me?
Meet new people – tired
of seeing the same old people from high school? Get involved and
meet people from different backgrounds to broaden your horizons
Develop leadership skills – students involved in leadership
programs or student clubs can learn teamwork, organization, and time management skills
that they wouldn’t get in a classroom
Find activities that compliment your major - there’s a club for
almost every program on campus
Gain new skills – some events and clubs on campus can help you
figure out what you want to do with your life, whether it’s become a gospel singer or a
U.S. ambassador
Build your resume - employers are interested in well-rounded students,
not those with only academic achievements
HAVE FUN! College is more than just books and studying; take
advantage of all of the opportunities you have as a college student
Recreational Trips
The College Life Office arranges trips for students to enjoy
off-campus activities at an economical rate or at no charge. These events include: ski trips,
trips to sporting events (NHL hockey, pro lacrosse, Baltimore Orioles), hiking and bike riding
trips, trips to amusement parks, white water rafting, and more! For more information, contact
the College Life Office at 443-412-2140 or via email at
meibner@harford.edu.
