Important New GED® Test Information
Starting in 2014, there will be a new GED®
test*. The current version of the GED® test is
expiring at the end of 2013 and your scores will expire too if you don't finish and
pass the test by then. Enroll in classes now. For information, see http://www.gedtestingservice.com/finishtheged/.
GED Test Preparation
If you are an adult 16 years of age or older who did not complete high school,
GED classes will help you to prepare to take the GED examination and earn
a Maryland high school diploma. Instruction will include review and practice of those skills necessary
for passing the GED exam. There is a tuition and book fee for classes. Senior
adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply. Eligible for VA
benefits.
Evening GED classes will be held in the Edgewood area and at Harford Community College.
Former Adult Basic Education (ABE) and GED students may call 443-412-2152 to
enroll in class. Adults new to the program should attend one of the advising
sessions listed below to pre-register for classes.
Registration is not necessary for the advising
sessions, just walk in.
GED Practice Test Session
The session includes an introduction to and
administration of an official GED Practice Test. It
will include test taking strategies, essay writing and using
the calculator for the GED exam. Students will receive scores and advising on the day of the
session. For more information, or to schedule a

Adult Basic Education/Literacy
Reading, Writing and Math Classes
Are you interested in learning or improving basic reading, writing or math
skills? Enroll in FREE Adult Basic Education I (ABE) literacy classes,
ABE II review classes, or a one-on-one literacy tutoring program for beginning
readers. With the help of supportive teachers and volunteers, you will be able
to work at your own speed to meet your goals. Day and evening ABE classes meet
twice a week at centers throughout Harford County; literacy tutoring is
scheduled to meet individual needs.
Attend one of the free advising sessions listed below to receive help in
assessing your skills and enrolling in class. Room numbers for the
advising sessions will be posted on the front door of the building.
Registration is not necessary for the advising sessions, just
walk in.

granted by the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.
