This series is for individuals who are reentering the workforce, want to advance in their career, change careers, or be more productive. These courses provide the training needed to gain computer skills that can lead to employment or help you advance in your current career. The first course, Starting Over, will identify your strengths and help you map out strategies to achieve your goals. The next six courses will teach you the necessary computer skills for today’s workforce. Finally, the last two courses will help you write an effective resume and search for that perfect job.

By completing a combination of classroom and online courses, students will obtain a Harford Community College noncredit certificate. The certificate recognizes the student’s achievement in using Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. To receive the Computer Skills for Today’s Workforce certificate, seven classroom courses must be competed in the following sequence:

• Starting Over
• Introduction to Business Computing
• Learn Word in a Day
• Word Intermediate
• Learn Excel in a Day
• Excel Intermediate
• PowerPoint QuickStart

The following online courses must also be completed during the semester:

• Resume Writing Working Online
• 12 Steps to a Successful Job Search Online

Once these courses are complete, call 443-412-2033 to receive the Computer Skills for Today’s Workforce certificate.
